1. Re: best area to stay close to city centre. Passeig Maritim is nice - on bus route to airport , one every 15-20 min costs 2 Euros, or to bus station which takes about 10 mins which is less but I can't rememeber how much exactly. Its a lovely 20 min walk along the harbour to the old to the old town but also lots of restuarants and bars nearby.
